sad day no more yahoo pipes on the horizon

This is a sad day in the age of cloud computing, I’ve just heard that yahoo pipes is to be pulled out of commission from the end of September 🙁

I know I can pull my news feeds via different mechanisms, I already do for popular sites, but this makes me sad.

Yahoo pipes is, it is still with us for now, a fantastic powerful UI, that allows a user to manipulate heaps of data and feeds, without much technical know how. It has allowed me, and many others, to aggregate and share info easily with like minded others.

Maybe a sign of the times, a victim of new IP laws, or simply didn’t pay for itself?
